Dismemberment Trial
New Jersey, 11/3/98
The case of a South River man accused of killing and dismembering his girlfriend could go to a grand jury within a month. George Jenewicz was ordered held on
750-thousand dollars bail yesterday. Authorities say Jenewicz shot Eunice Gillens Joseph in the heart with a .357-caliber handgun following an argument over money at their home, then cut off her head and arms. Police found Joseph's headless and armless body stuffed in a garbage can in the basement on Friday. Her head was found inside the oven, which was not turned on. Jenewicz' lawyers said he killed and dismembered his girlfriend in self-defense after she pointed a gun at him. Authorities say Jenewicz had a serious drinking problem and that the couple had an abusive relationship.
