1971 Murder

After twenty-seven years, the truth of a murder comes out. Susan Marie Watson is charged in the 1971 death of her mother. Watson took her mother's gun and shot her while she was sleeping. She then wiped off her fingerprints and returned the gun to where she found it. Watson killed her mother because she was physically and verbally abusive. Her stepfather was also abusive and sexually assaulted her. Watson was 14 at the time of the murder and Essex County officials will try her as an a juvenile. They are unsure of the type of sentence she could face. Watson admitted to killing her mother after her brothers decided to reopen the case.
