Angry Woman
Westchester/Rockland
, 11/3/98
A woman, angry that she bought a lemon car, took her anger out on a mechanic. A Westchester woman, who thought she
bought a lemon of a car, spent the night in jail after she allegedly pulled a gun on a mechanic and demanded her money back. Police say 37-year-old Kari Brayman of White Plains, thought a mechanic at Auto Clinic in Stamford Connecticut sold her a faulty car and failed to make the promised repairs. She allegedly asked him to ride in the car with her yesterday, then pulled out a gun. She eventually let the mechanic go without getting any money. The shaken garage employee then called police who caught up with Brayman in Greenwich. She is charged with attempted robbery, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment and threatening. Brayman is being held on 100-thousand dollars bail. She faces more than 20 years in prison if convicted.
