Police Office Unstaffed

There's a shakeup in state police services in Putnam County. Troop K Major James Schepperly says the Brewster state police office may be unstaffed for certain periods of the day, so the officer can patrol the roads. Schepperly says since 9-1-1 began in Putnam on September First, fewer calls are being made to the barracks. He says if the officer is out, a call to the Brewster barracks will be answered by a dispatcher. Putnam Sheriff Robert Thoubboron says 9-1-1 is allowing police to get more cars on the road, which will reduce response time to emergency calls.
