Officer Shot

An officer has been wounded in an undercover operation. An undercover cop who was shot during a buy-and-bust operation was in serious but stable condition at a Brooklyn hospital Thursday morning. The 33-year-old officer, whose name was not released, was gunned down Wednesday night at about 9 p.m., said department spokesman George Jensen. One man has been arrested, but it was not clear whether he was involved in the shooting, said NYPD detective Robert Samuel. Police are looking for another suspect, Jensen said. The officer was shot in the upper body while conducting the transaction on the corner of Lefferts Avenue and LaMont Court in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. He has been admitted to Kings County Hospital. No further details were immediately available.
