Family Seeks Prosecutor

The family of murder victim Chris Malone is asking for an investigation in their son's death. Renee Malone, mother of the victim, said that the family wants a special prosecutor to investigate the autopsy report about how Malone was shot. A Westchester County grand jury did not bring criminal charges against the officers who shot Malone on July 19. The jury decided that the officers were justified when they shot him because he pointed a gun at the police officers. Renee Malone released an autopsy report that claims that the bullet wounds to her son suggested an angle that they were fired while he was on the ground. Governor Pataki's office has not yet received the request for a special prosecutor and the office would not comment on the case.
