EZ Pass

It's life in the fast lane for E-Z Pass users on the Atlantic City Expressway. The automated electronic toll collection system became operational on New Jersey's smallest toll road just after midnight. An antenna sensor reads information off a transponder and deducts the toll from a motorist's account. E-Z Pass users will also get a discount when tolls on the Expressway go up later this month. E-Z Pass will be available on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway in 2000.
