Barn Blaze

Hudson Valley, 11/11/98

It took firefighters from three counties to extinguish a fire. Flames were seen from miles around overnight when a barn in the Putnam County town of Patterson burned. The large building -- 125-feet by 50-feet -- caught fire around six p-m. It took firefighters from Putnam, Dutchess and Connecticut to put out the flames. Officials say the barn had a lot of antique materials inside of it. It was owned by the Prisco family. One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
