Pataki's Numbers Lower, Says Poll

By Newsradio 88 Staff

The approval rating of Gov. George Pataki, embroiled in a battle over the state's rent laws and still without a new state budget, is once again below 50 percent, a poll shows.

The Zogby poll has Pataki's job approval rating at 47 percent, down three points from 50 percent since a March poll, also conducted by Zogby.

Pataki's people note the plus or minus four percentage points built into the survey.

Also in the poll, Sen. Alfonse D'Amato's approval rating was down two points to 31 percent, but there again, there's that plus or minus four percent possible error margin.

Both Pataki and D'Amato face re-election races next year.
