Family Now Suspected In Missing Chinatown Girl Death

By Newsradio 88 Staff

The investigation into the death of an 11-year-old Chinatown girl whose body was found floating in the East River has taken a new turn.

Now police are looking at the family of Quin-rong Wu.

Police are reaching out to Chinese officials about the mysterious death of another daughter. The mother says the baby died shortly after birth and the body dumped in a river. The father says the baby was born sick and left outside a hospital.

Quin-rong Wu's mother says she walked the girl to school the morning she disappeared, letting the 11-year-old walk the final block by herself.
