Alex Kelly Trial Should Go To Jury Today - UPDATED

UPDATE: The jury in the Alex Kelly rape trial has begun deliberations.

The fate of accused rapist Alex Kelly will soon be in the hands of the jury. The judge is expected to hand over the case today in Stamford.

Both sides yesterday presented closing arguments. Kelly's lawyer pointed out what he said were inconsistencies in the testimony of Kelly's accuser. He referred to expert testimony, saying the alleged victim lied about not smoking marijuana the night of the alleged attack.

The prosecution portrayed Kelly as a cold-hearted opportunist who took advantage of the girl after offering her a ride home from a party.

The prosecution said the girl's inconsistencies are due to the fact that eleven years have gone by.
