Several blocks in lower Manhattan are without water because of a 12-inch main that broke around 5:00 this morning.
The Department Of Environmental Protection expects to have everything back on sometime this afternoon.
The 127-year-old pipe, at the northwest corner of Canal and Broadway, ruptured around 5:00 this morning, the cause is unknown.
The break caused no damage to the pavement.
