Abraham Lincoln Letter Returned

A Civil War-era replica of a letter hand-written by Abraham Lincoln stolen from a Long Island restaurant in May has been returned.

Nassau County police say the letter, ripped off a wall at the Maine Maid Inn in Jericho, was returned by a lawyer acting as liaison for the thief.

The Inn's manager says the thief was planning to destroy the letter, but was convinced not to so it could be returned.
