All the lights will go off along New York City's Fifth Avenue around nine tonight so that spectators may experience the full effect of Disney's "Electrical Parade," the moniker which carries over from the fete usually conducted along the route of Main Street, USA, in Orlando.
The Disney extravaganza coincides with the debut of "Hercules," it's latest full length animated feature.
The company has paid an estimated $250,000 for city services, including the repavement of a pothole-ridden stretch of 42nd street.
The police department is closing many streets along the parade route to motorists and parking, urging spectators to use mass transit.
Those closures begin at 6 p.m., and repaving in the area may be taking place all day.
The parade starts at Times Square, winding along 42nd Street to Fifth Avenue, then up to 66th Street.
