Disney Celebrates New Movie With A Parade In Manhattan

Mayor Giuliani thanked Disney yesterday for making New York a better city. He welcomed Disney CEO Michael Eisner at the 42nd Street theatre Disney transformed from seedy to spectacular. More than a million people jammed midtown for a parade Disney threw to kick-off the movie Hercules. They saw fireworks, floats, and a light display, made more stark by the blacking-out of Fifth Avenue.
