State Trooper Released From Hospital After Accident

A state trooper was treated and released from the hospital after his cruiser was rear-ended and sent into oncoming traffic in Middletown this morning. Trooper Andrew Molella suffered a leg injury. William Daniels of Marlborough was helicoptered to Hartford Hospital after his car struck the police cruiser when it veered into his lane after being hit. Daniels was listed in critical condition. Middletown police say that a 20-year-old East Hampton woman was driving the pickup that rear-ended the cruiser.
