Preservation Society Looks To Restore Ellis Island Buildings

The Main Building and buildings on the north side of Ellis Island have been restored, but the rest of the island is rapidly rotting away.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation put the gateway to the American Dream on its list of the country's 11 most endangered historic places.

Among the buildings that could be lost is the hospital where immigrants too sick to be allowed in the country were treated.
