The Yankees and Mets will meet starting tonight for the first time during the regular season in a three game "subway series" at Yankee Stadium, reports WCBS' Kathy Karpin.
The Yankees-Mets series is part of the interleague schedule begun by Major League Baseball for the first time this year. The last time New York City fans enjoyed a "subway series" was when the Yankees defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in the '56 World Series.
