Lead paint may have infected city air while the DOT made repairs at the Manhattan and Belt Parkway bridges, City Comptroller Alan Hevesi claims.
He says the Department of Transportation did not follow safety rules at 2 out of 13 bridge repair projects.
Lead is the number one poison affecting children, he says, and he's made six recommendations for the DOT to clean up its act thus far, he claims.
