Pedestrians will have more room on the sidewalks in midtown Manhattan, but hungry New Yorkers on the go will be disappointed.
The state's highest court has ruled that Mayor Giuliani can banish sidewalk food vendors from congested streets in midtown Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn.
No word yet when City Hall will move to get the food carts off 20 midtown streets.
The ruling prompted immediate cries of outrage from the city's 3,000 food peddlers.
