The stage is dark at the Circle in the Square in Greenwich Village, and it looks like it will stay that way.
The New York Times reports the theater has closed its doors and laid off staff, ten months after declaring bankruptcy.
The 46-year-old Circle in the Square produced plays by writers such as Tennessee Williams, Eugene O'Neil and Arthur Miller.
