The life of Betty Shabazz was again in danger early today as new medical problems threaten her recovery being treated.
Betty Shabazz has been in extremely critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center since June 1, when she suffered third-degree burns over 80 percent of her body in a fire.
Burned skin is prone to infection and causes massive loss of fluids and therefore must be replaced if the patient is to live.
A series of skin-replacement surgeries which doctors said were her only hope for long-term survival.
