A huge fire at a New Jersey power substation is sending thick black smoke billowing towards Staten Island.
The fire started at 5:40 this morning. It is a transformer fire at a substation in Elizabeth, New Jersey, just west of the New Jersey Turnpike. There have been some reported delays at Newark Airport because they are having power problems at the terminals. New Jersey Transit trains are not affected by the fire.
