If you drive into the city, you no doubt already know it. But The Port Authority has the numbers to back it up. Traffic is getting worse.
We are on our way to a new record this year. And that is not good news for drivers. The Port Authority is saying New York City bound traffic is up significantly over last year, nearly ten percent at the Holland Tunnel, and a bit less at the other crossings--7.6 percent at the George Washington Bridge and 6.5 At the Lincoln.
The hope is EZ Pass will help. Butcher says the rush hours are getting longer, and don't expect a break in the summer. If that isn't bad enough, you'll find a lot of summer construction on highways beyond the bridges and tunnels.
