He prays everyday for forgiveness but nonetheless deserves to die.
The words of David Berkowitz who 2 decades ago as the ”Son of Sam” killer terrorized New York with a string of shootings that left 6 people dead ú and 7 wounded. But the gunfire stopped when the postal worker from Yonkers was arrested August 10th 1977 and subsequently revealed he took orders from a dog named Sam.
In a letter to the Daily News, Berkowitz, who's confined to the upstate Sullivan Correctional facility, says he has nothing but deep regret for his shooting spree, for which he's serving a half dozen 25 year to life terms. Berkowitz who earns 21 cents an hour as a chaplain's clerk, says he now spends his time reading the Bible and working.
