A police officer stripped of his gun and badge on suspicion that he sexually abused a woman inside a Brooklyn stationhouse could face a grand jury indictment in the case, Police Commissioner Howard Safir said.
The officer, Benjamin Rodriguez, 26, was restricted to desk duty on Monday, after allegations surfaced that he forced a woman in his custody to engage in a sex act at the 79th Precinct last December.
Safir said Tuesday that prosecutors plan to present evidence against Rodriguez to a grand jury today. Sources had told The Associated Press on Monday that Rodriguez allegedly molested the woman in a bathroom, hallway and office at the precinct stationhouse.
