Al Sharpton Owes Thousands In Back Taxes
By Newsradio 88 Staff
Al Sharpton says he's no deadbeat.
But he admits he owes more than 100-thousand dollars in back taxes and
penalties.
He says the taxes are being disputed, and he won't pay what he doesn't
think
is fair.
Sharpton's tax woes surfaced a day after he forced Ruth Messenger into
a
runoff election for the Democratic nomination for mayor.
In a telephone interview with the Daily News, Sharpton blamed politics
for his
tax woes--noting former Mayor Dinkins also had tax problems.
