Wayne Gretzky's Wife Hit With Plexiglas While Watching Game

By Newsradio 88 Staff

It's usually hockey wives who watch their husbands carried off the ice with an injury.

But last night New York Rangers star Wayne Gretzky watched as his wife Janet Jones was carried out of Madison Square Garden on a stretcher.

She was body checked and knocked unconscious by one of those big panes of Plexiglas that are supposed to shield front row fans.

A shaken Wayne Gretzky skated over to his wife's side during a ten-minute delay in the game and then continued playing the final six minutes of the game.

Mrs. Gretzky was taken to the hospital where she was kept overnight.

Meanwhile, at the Garden, they're investigating why the plexiglas pane came loose.
