A prison beating of inmate Pamela Smart -- who allegedly seduced a teen-ager into killing her husband -- may not have gone to court if the victim wasn't a "celebrity inmate," a defense attorney told the jury in that case today.
Ms. Smart charges two female inmates allegedly beat her last October on the grounds at Bedford Correctional Facility in Westchester.
