WCBS Reporter Gets Marriage Proposal Over The Air

As you know, it's as big tradition among romantics to pop the question on New Years Eve.

Cops and reporters are no exception. They can be romantic, too. Case in Point: Bronx detective David Rodriguez, who called WCBS Newsradio 88 last Evening, looking for a woman named Darlene Pomales, who just happens to be one of our reporters you hear on the air every day.

So Harley and Deb put David on the air, and you can tell just by listening that even though David was on the phone, he was on one knee… as we broadcast a 50-thousand watt marriage proposal.

Ten minutes later, Darlene called up the station and ... do you think we'd do the story if she said no?

Of course she said yes. The newly engaged Dave and Darlene have been dating for three years.
