A Learjet skidded off a runway at LaGuardia Airport this morning after being forced to return to the airport with mechanical problems, reports Newsradio 88.
There were no injuries.
The incident occurred at 7:43 a-m after the jet had departed from LaGuardia. The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane was in the air when the pilot notified airport officials of a problem with its nose gear.
When the jet returned to the airport, it veered off the right side of the runway and landed on the grass.
The plane was cleared from the runway, but the damage is done -- there are delays at LaGuardia.
