Death Penalty Case Asks Jurors Tough Questions

By Newsradio 88 Staff

The roughly 300 potential jurors in New York City's first death-penalty case are being asked a wide range of questions designed to probe their attitudes about capital punishment, reports Newsradio 88.

Using 81 questions on a 16-page questionnaire, prosecutors and defense lawyers are hoping to pick a jury in about three weeks.

A former prison guard, Darrel Harris, is charged in Brooklyn Supreme Court with murdering three people during a stickup at a Brooklyn social club in December 1996.
